Good Beer, Fair Prices… Why We Price Our Beer the Way We Do

At Shack Bay Brewing, we know the cost of living is higher than ever. Groceries, fuel, rent… it all adds up. Going out for a beer isn’t something people do without thinking about it anymore, and we completely understand that.

That’s why we’ve been very deliberate about how we price our beer at our Inverloch pop-up bar. This isn’t about being cheap. It’s about being fair… and showing genuine respect for the people who choose to spend their hard-earned money with us.

When you walk up to the bar and order Shack Bay beer, we want it to feel comfortable. No second-guessing. No mental maths. Just a good beer, shared with good people, in a relaxed local setting.

Our pop-up setup helps make that possible. With lower overheads than a permanent venue and a simple bar layout, we can keep costs under control. Serving beer in plastic cups keeps things efficient, reduces staffing pressure, and cuts power and water use. Those savings don’t disappear… they help us keep prices sensible.

We’ve also made a conscious choice to focus on volume and atmosphere rather than pushing prices up. If beers feel fairly priced, people stay longer, come back again, and bring friends next time. That creates the kind of buzz we love seeing… a busy bar, plenty of laughs, and empty kegs by the end of the day.

Shack Bay Brewing has always been about community first. We’re a local brewery, brewing for locals, and welcoming anyone else who wanders in. Pricing our beer responsibly is part of that promise… especially at a time when everyone is feeling the pinch.

So if you’re holding a plastic cup of Shack Bay beer at our pop-up, know this… you’re appreciated. Your support genuinely means the world to us, and we’ll keep doing our best to pour great local beer at prices that feel right.

Thanks for backing local… and cheers for being part of the Shack Bay story 🍻
