50ltr nano kit

50ltr nano kit

Let me be upfront—this isn’t something you can capture in one blog post. But my lord, what a wild and fun ride it was setting up Shack Bay Brewing’s first nano brewery… right in Matt’s home office.

Matt started by whipping out his trusty pen and paper to sketch how all the brewing gear was supposed to fit together. He’s a big fan of writing things down—seriously, you should see the notebooks. Me? I took one look and thought, It’s basically just adult Lego, tossed the instructions aside, and started unpacking boxes. About four hours (and several swear words) later, we had something that vaguely resembled a functioning system. We then realised—how do you actually power this thing? A quick call to the local sparky later, and we were (allegedly) good to go. That’s when I gracefully bowed out and left Matt to tinker with his shiny new toy.

For those interested, we used Cheeky Peak Brewery for our initial 50-litre setup. The kit included stainless steel kettles, a mash tun, and a fermentation tank—all the good stuff. It’s compact but commercial-grade, giving us the flexibility to test recipes and perfect our brews before scaling up. If you’re curious about the gear or thinking of starting your own nano setup, hit us up through the contact page—we’re happy to talk shop and share what we’ve learned (including what not to do).
